Author and corporate professional Doug Utberg has been through a lot of ups and downs through a variety of business sectors. He is not an ivory tower theorist or a corporate hack. He delivers straight-talk that is designed to help forward thinking leaders improve their organization. In his professional career, Doug started in the Boy Scouts of America, earning the rank of Eagle Scout. . Moreover, he served as a Squad Leader in the United States Marine Corps, serving on missions in Oregon, Alaska and El Salvador. Doug moved his career into the realm of Finance for Intel Corp. from 2000 to 2018, spanning across manufacturing, supply chain, pricing, data systems and Information Technology. In 2018, Doug moved to Lattice Semiconductor, serving as the Program Management Office Director, overseeing a transformation of the IT division until 2020. Since then, Doug has been consulting with mid-sized and large enterprises to help them optimize their cost structure and maximize total business value.

When he was starting out, Doug lived with modest means like any other person. There was no trust fund to fall back on. Doug worked through years of trials and failures to learn and grow to where he is today. Working and serving for long terms in different organizations has given Doug opportunities to learn the dynamics of running an organization and knowing nonsense when he sees it.
